This policy explains how SportsSync uses cookies and similar technologies. Controller: EMBASTIC LABS, S.L.U. (Tax ID B93828622), Avda. Baix Penedès, 16, 43700 El Vendrell (Tarragona), Spain.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help us remember your preferences and improve your experience.

2. Cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies: authenticating your session and basic service functionality. Preference cookies: remembering settings such as language. We do not use attribution cookies: if you arrive through a personal link we sent you, its identifier travels in the page address up to signup and is attached to your account only if you sign up. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

3. Third-party cookies

Our authentication and payment providers (Supabase and Stripe) may set their own cookies when you interact with their forms. Their processing is governed by their own policies. YouTube videos on the blog don't load until you press play; from then on they play from youtube-nocookie.com and Google may use its own storage technologies.

4. Cookie Duration

Sign-in cookies are renewed while you use SportsSync and expire after at most 400 days if you don't come back; signing out deletes them. The language cookie lasts 1 year. When you connect Strava, Instagram or YouTube we use temporary cookies during the process that expire after 10 minutes. We also keep some preferences (such as light or dark theme) and the editor's state in your browser's local storage so you don't lose your work; that data never leaves your device and you can clear it from your browser.

5. Legal basis

Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent under Article 22(2) of the Spanish LSSI, being indispensable to providing the service you asked for. Preference cookies fall under the same exemption where they reflect a choice you made. We use no cookies that require your consent.

6. Managing Cookies

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using some features of the service.

7. Cookieless audience measurement

We measure audience and site performance using Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights. Per their provider's documentation, neither stores cookies or persistent identifiers on your device, so they require no prior consent and you will not see a cookie banner. Were we to add a tool that does use them, we would ask for your consent before installing it.
