Relive Alternatives in 2026: When You Want Your Own Footage, Not a 3D Map

toolscyclingcomparison

Relive is genuinely good at what it does. Upload a ride, run or hike, and it turns your GPS track into an animated 3D flyover of the route, with your photos dropped in along the way. Millions of people use it, and for a quick "look where I went" video it's hard to beat.

But Relive animates a map. It doesn't use the video you shot. If you came here because you filmed your ride and want that footage with your data on top — speed on the descent, power on the climb, heart rate when it got hard — Relive isn't built for it, and that's the gap this list covers.

I build one of the tools below (SportsSync — at the end), so weigh my framing accordingly. The facts are checkable.

First: what Relive gives you, and what it costs

  • Free: one 3D video per activity, without editing. The activity has to be longer than 1 km and shorter than 12 hours.
  • Relive Plus: $6.99/month or $38.99/year — music, HD video, unlimited editing, imported activities, activities over 12 hours, interactive 3D route exploration and extra colour themes.

If a route animation is what you want, stay with Relive. Everything below is for the other case: your camera, your footage, your numbers.

What to look for in an alternative

  • Real footage. The whole point. Your video, with data drawn on top of it.
  • Live data, not totals. Speed and heart rate that change with the footage, synced second by second — not a summary card.
  • Where you edit. Desktop software, a browser tab or your phone. Pick based on where you'll actually be when you want to make the clip.
  • Vertical output. Most of these clips end up on Instagram, TikTok or Shorts. 9:16 matters.

The alternatives

Insta360 Stats Dashboard / DJI Mimo — free, if you own the camera

Both camera makers overlay speed, elevation and route on footage from their own cameras, from their phone apps. Insta360's dashboard also accepts Strava data. If you already own one of these cameras, use it — free and native. Buying one just for this doesn't make sense.

Strava Sticker Stats — free, the lightest option

Strava's share button now produces a transparent sticker with your distance, elevation gain, time and route outline, which you can put on top of a video in an Instagram Story. It's a summary of the whole activity, not live data, and the activity can't be private. Closest to Relive's "here's my ride" spirit, but on your own footage.

Stamptivity — free, in the browser

Free, no account, no watermark. Drop your GPX or FIT file and your video into the browser, place speed, heart-rate, elevation and map gauges, and export in 16:9 or 9:16. It can also export a transparent overlay for your own editor. The best free option if you don't mind placing the gauges yourself.

Telemetry Overlay — $199 one-time, desktop

The most complete desktop tool: Windows, Mac and Linux, hundreds of gauges, reads camera telemetry from GoPro, DJI and Insta360 plus GPX and many other formats. $199 for a perpetual licence with a year of updates. For people who edit on a computer and want full control.

SportsSync — cloud, phone-first

What we build. Connect Strava (or upload a GPX file) and your video, line them up once, and pick your moment: SportsSync renders a short of up to 30 seconds (10 on the free plan) with live speed, power, heart rate, cadence and gradient on top, in 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 or 16:9 — from your phone. You can also watch the whole video with your data synced, and share it with your coach or riding group. Free: 3 activities with 3 clips each, kept for 30 days. Pro: €9/month or €89/year. Clips publish straight to Instagram from the app (that needs an Instagram professional account).

Honest take: if you edit long videos on a computer, a desktop or browser tool gives you more control. SportsSync is for the phone-after-the-ride case: footage from your phone or action cam, data already on Strava, a clip on Instagram the same evening.
