DashWare was the free tool an entire generation of cyclists, track-day drivers, and sim racers used to burn speed, RPM, lap delta, and GPS data straight onto their footage. GoPro acquired it in 2012, development effectively stopped around 2013, and GoPro formally pulled the plug in 2022. Honest take: if you came from DashWare for motorsport telemetry — lap deltas, RPM, OBD-II — this is the direct replacement, not the cycling-oriented tools on this list. The interface shows its age and development is slow, but the actual feature set for track-day data is still the deepest here.

StintBox — freemium, desktop, cross-camera

A modern desktop app (Windows/macOS/Linux) that pulls telemetry natively from GoPro, DJI, Insta360, Sony, and Garmin sources — no separate GPX file needed in most cases. Free tier: 17 widgets, 1080p output, 5-minute clip limit. Pro: €99/6 months, €179/year, or €349 one-time (perpetual license).

Honest take: the most actively developed option here, and native multi-camera telemetry reading is a real convenience DashWare never had. The free tier's 5-minute cap makes it a trial more than a permanent free option — budget for Pro if you're using it regularly.
